Geez, is it the end of August already?

There are less than two weeks left before we head out. Craziness! Josh is currently in Portland right now hanging out with a certain Mr. Sloan. We have both yet to seriously think about packing. Our farms are mostly taken care of, which is a nice relief. We are going to start on a vineyard in Piacenza, in the northern part of the country. Next we will travel further north and west to the Piemonte region and stay on a hazelnut farm run by four women. In October, we will be down in Sicily on an olive farm. Our final farm in Italy will be with a German couple whom Maria, Josh's sister, was especially fond of when she wwoofed in Italy. At the end of November, our Schengen visas run out and we will have to skedaddle out of the EU. Luckily the Brits have no interest in surrendering any of their sovereignty and we can safely reside there for another 3 months. We haven't made those plans yet, but we probably will shortly. There are fewer spots on farms available in the winter, so we'll have figure that out soon. Get 'em while they're cold.
